Dress Up Tea!

I made this in 2008. I made the cute teapots on my babylock embroidery machine. I had fun doing them.  The fabric I used in this sweet teapot quilt came from a dress I found at Goodwill. It worked
sooooo good with my colors. When I finished my HB said it looked better as a quilt than a dress.

Patchwork Bear----Patchwork Friends!

My Bear is a treasure to my wall in the sewing room.....He sits on his pin cushion and watches
all the cutting and quilting going on. He is a happy little bear.....His message under him says
"Life is a Patchwork of Friends."    How wonderful to thank of every friend in a patchwork
quilt to be cherished and loved forever. Sometimes we forget how warm and peaceful we feel
wrapped in our old quilts.....friends can make us feel the same way when they wrap their
arms aound us and say " I Love You! "...................................

Good Morning Sunday!

How wonderful it is to be with my Lord everyday.......
But to share the Lord's love and peace with loved ones is a awesome and beautiful thing.

This morning was a journey I never knew would happen to my husband and I....
My amazing son preached at a church this morning and we went to support him.
Oh! he has preached before but this time was not our home church. I could have busted
my buttons as my head swelled a dozen times bigger. We were sooooo proud of him. He
is a wonderful, loving, caring, insperation, Godly, man to me. He picks me up when I'm down and makes me laugh at myself, encourages me in the word, and gave me two beautiful grandchildren.
Must say a wonderful daughter-in-law that is more like a daughter to me. My son has a heart
of love for the people. He is preparing to go on a mission trip to Africa in Feb. Our love and prayers will travel with him and for his family here as well.......................

I have always wanted Chickens. I really do not know
why but I find them so very funny....I have now been
on my journey with my girls for almost two years.

They have been like friends and brightened my world
alone with all my other animals. I find them so sweet.

You know I never named them....never!!!!!!!

I have Foghorn, HenyPenny, Grace,Grandmaw,and

her. She was a white chicken with beautiful white eggs.

I ordered my new girls in Aug. They are big girls now.

My HB had to build on to my first exceeding hen house. Now I have 47 chickens. Oh! I did hand
out names with them too. I just can't help myself......Here are some pictures of the girls....Sweethearts!

in winter. I has sure grown big and strong..................
He 's the greatest thing there is. God has blessed me with a giving, loving, kind
wonderful, awesome and amazing man. We have been friends since my fourth

Now your ready to turn it out and flip it over than start

Complete Mug Rugs.............

These are my plans today....After I have my Apple Cinnamon Spice tea.......I have to finish my mug rugs.......I am already dreaming of the next project.  Nooooooooooo we have to finish these....
Than I make a sandwich...back fabric, batting, the pinwheel...Now your ready to sew...

Notice I have a 1/4" foot on my machine. I line the seam up with my foot...
I sew across both ways....
This is how I wanted mine to look...You might like to sew all the seams or
just the middle ones like I did......

Now trim all your sides even.....Ready to cut binding......

I cut the binding 2 1/2" wide....fold in half and iron....

Now your ready to sew binding on front of mat...
Line it up with edges and sew.........

Once you sew the binding turn to back.....pin...
I found these really awesome clips..They are like clothes pins...
So great to work with.....no pins to stick you......
That's all I got done to day......Ya! come back you hear!!!!!!!!!!

Mug Rugs

I got my fabric together and been dreaming about how I wanted to do my
mug rugs. I made for all my friends but I have none. I decided in pinwheel..
I'm so excited to get these going. I'll take you step by step.........First my fabric is cut into
10" squares. I put right sides together and sew all the way around the square.

Than cut point to point both ways......Iron open and lay it out however you want it to match.

I wanted mine to be the pinwheel. Use your imagination and lay it out how ever you like the pattern.
I had done a blue before, didn't know I got it in the picture. This is so easy to do pinwheels this way.
Not a lot of cutting and matching . It just opens up a whole new world of  fast and fabulous patterns.

Than just sew the top two together careful to match seams. Sew the two bottom together. Than sew across again matching points together.....Be sure you press each time you sew, it really helps when matching seams. And always when matching do one seam one way and the other the other way.

I hope you can see how I sewed across. Than I cliped the seams close to middle and opened
the middle up. This will help with the bulk of material at the middle. Be sure you press it open.
This is such a wonderful trick to any intersection of material. It will lay so much nicer...

I sure hope you can follow along and I encourages you to make all of your pin wheels this way.
I'll be back tomorrow to share how to complete the mug rugs I'm doing.
until than. I have six to do so I better get busy .........Happy Sewing!

OK, Today I decided to tell you the reason for my name on my blog. I have a awesome
white cat. When we moved into the new house, someone put her out here. She was just a little girl.

My grandson named her Miss. Kitty. She is now going on 4 yrs. old. She stays right with me in my sewing room.  So here is my partner and sewing  side kick........She is obsessed with the top of my Hooster and thinks it is her place to  keep my chickens warm.................
My threads and bobbins are a treat when she knows I'm not looking.  She is also the number one inspecter of all I sew. You will be seeing more of her from time to time....................
